🌿 Vintage Mixing Palettes

🌿 Yes, deviled eggs are yummy, but that's not what this post is about!

This year, I'm on a mission to reduce, reuse, and recycle. One way to do that is to repurpose vintage items into art supplies.

Deviled egg platters make wonderful mixing palettes for watercolors. Look for them in your local antique stores, garage sales, and thrift shops. Maybe your grandmother has a few?

I found nearly 100 vintage deviled eggs plates on Etsy! Here's a handy list with alllll of them.

This is the floral porcelain plate shown above.

Or, how about this one from Steubenville with a sweet "Sunday Afternoon" illustration?

While shopping, make sure to choose a plate with a glazed finish and true white color. That way the plate won't stain or interfere with the colors you're mixing.

Happy painting,
Ann
