🌿 The World's Greatest Diaries, Journals, Notebooks, And Letters

🌿 Because Ohio's public and university library systems are among the most well-funded in the world, I'm fortunate to be able to walk the stacks and stumble upon some truly awe-inspiring books.

Remarkable Diaries: The World's Greatest Diaries, Journals, Notebooks, and Letters is one I found recently, and I enjoyed it so much I'm going to purchase a copy for my own collection.

There are new and used copies on Amazon for less than $20.

DK published this massive coffee table book featuring photographs of entries composed by luminaries from the beginning of recorded history to the present.

Handwritten excerpts from the journals and letters of Pliny the Younger, Ennin, Leonardo da Vinci, Yi Sun-shin, William Bradford, Captain James Cook, Francisco Jose de Goya, Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, Johann Wolfgang von Goethe, Lewis and Clark, Sir Walter Scott, Charles Darwin, Queen Victoria, Soren Kierkegaard, Charlotte Bronte, Henry David Thoreau, Leo Tolstoy, John Muir, Vincent van Gogh, Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, Beatrix Potter, Thomas Edison, Marie Curie, Virginia Woolf, Franz Kafka, Carl Jung, Anais Nin, George Orwell, Albert Camus, Anne Frank, Frida Kahlo, Sylvia Plath, and Che Guevara are included among dozens more.

All entries are presented in chronological order with editorial notes explaining their context.

This is just a small sampling of the treasures:
